THERMAL PROJECTS
Although thermal projects are relatively new to the industry, Airtech's technology partner Icaros, has conducted several major thermal projects around the globe. With this experience and support, Airtech invites our Australian clients to "lead the pack" and take advantage of this amazing technology. Contact us to discuss your thermal project needs today!
Icaros aerial photography system IDM200 assisting the marine cleanup operation in the Gulf of Mexico.
General:
On April 20, 2010, an unexpected explosion occurred on the semi-submersible offshore drilling rig Deepwater Horizon in the Gulf of Mexico, killing 11 rig workers and injuring 17 others. It will soon trigger one of the most massive ecological crises ever documented in this part of the world. On April 24, it was discovered that the wellhead was damaged and leaking oil into the Gulf, resulting in several major repercussions: A serious threat has been posed to the regional wildlife, affecting as many as 400 species along the coastal areas.
It became a matter of top priority for the federal U.S authorities. In order to handle the situation, BP was required to start a rapid response operation. Icaros technology was selected by BP (British Petroleum) as one of the main companies to head and operate the aerial data acquisition and delivery efforts.

DEM / VOLUME CALCULATION'S ANALYSIS

Through our
accurate digital elevation models we can compute volumes as required (i.e.
material removed or added to or from a previous surface) with accuracies of =/-
2% for well-defined surfaces. A certified letter stating the volume in cubic
metres can also be provided.
The main benefits of using aerial photography for volumetric calculations is that it is faster and more economical than traditional ground survey when looking at large areas like landfills, quarries and earthworks. This valuable information can be used in a number of areas including forecasting, reporting productivity and feasibility studies.
